Power steering issues sometimes..... any help?
well for some reason this only happens every now and then.
i have no idea.....
i can turn the wheel just fine about 1-2inches and then it gets SUPER HARD to turn!!!!!
but after awhile it frees up like 5-10mins of driving....
the fluids not low either.
only thing i think that MIGHT be a problem is maybe some water that could posibly be freezing clogging the pressure or something. anyone had any kinda problem like this and have any recomendations to fix it?

Your power steering pump could be going out. Is the belt tight? Are the boots around the tie-rods in good shape? Ball joints in good shape? I had my power steering go out on my 95 civic. It gradually got harder and harder to turn, but if the bearings inside the pump are going out it may have intermittent failures like you are experiencing. Here's a pic of the steering system if you don't have one.

well both my boots are poped off the ends and it only seems to do it when its realy cold out!
the belts where all replaced when i droped in the new motor all OEM belts maybe 3-5months ago.....
i hope the dam thing isnt going bad! i realy dont feel like swaping it out!

Did the pump come with the engine you swapped in? I bet those engines sit for months before they are sold. Do you know how many miles are on it? My Civic PS pump died at around 150k miles. I guess the first thing I would do is change the PS fluid. I bet they probably sell some special cleaning kit for the system too, but I've never tried that before. If that doesn't work you could try taking the pump apart and referbinshing it, there are detailed specs available in various manuals. But it looks like a complicated part. I wish I could be more helpful...

the power steering pump was on the car when i got it....
i assume its the original one but then again the previous owner said he did have the motor replaced twice himself... so i got no idea. but it only does it when its cold as hell out.... i got no idea how to change the fluid in it...
i guess if it starts doing it when its warmer out then ill have to buy a new PS pump.
