Default power steering, meh

When I turn my steering wheel to the left or right, the engine bogs a little and it feels a bit different than normal. This is a recent development. I know the engine reacts a bit normally when you turn the wheel but not like THIS. PS fluid level is fine. No CEL. Any ideas?

my advice is to just ditch the power steering. Not for power, but for better handling. You feel the road much better and the only thing harder is turning while driving less than ~5 MPH.

But if you want to fix the power steering then I would check the belt tension to make sure it's not too tight. Also, I would flush the fluid in case maybe something got in it and it's a little clogged or something... flushing it might get out whatever is in there.
