Is it ok to put premium fuel in my d16y8? i didn't think it would hurt it, but my friends like "ummm don't" so does he not know what hes talking about or should i not put premium in?

No problem, there is probably a few posts out there that cover it but the bottom line is, unless you have your timing advanced, high compression or both, you don't need premium. Octane rating is a measure of the fuel's resistance to pre-ignition. That's all.

there's definetly nothing wrong with going with premium fuel. the only down side is it cost more. it's not nessecary to run premium gas unless your timing's advanced or if you got a turbo or super charger setup. if not i would just stay with 87 octane. but it doesn't hurt to put premium in once in a while.
