problem with brakes

then what do you think the fix is because that is the only thing i changed and now the car brakes normal

If the problem really went away (it can reappear shortly, I had such a case), this just means you managed to fix it accidentally, when you were messing up with everything in your brakes.

I just can’t see how shims may do this. Most probably it is/was related to rotors (either quality or installation), then bearings – and I never had a case with anything else.

shims reduce vibration between the pad and the caliper. if there is no shim, there would always be shaking from braking at a high rate of speed. theres a reason there in the box.

did you properly break in the new pads and rotors?

yes i properly broken in the pads and rotors and it is still not shaking after removing the shims i drive about 60 to 70 mph everyday going to and from work and it does not shake an inch now
