Problem with Power Door Lock
Just purchased a used 99 Civic DX (the spend thrifty Value Package) and the one driver side Power Door Lock is not working. I recently purchased a new switch, replaced it, and now it still does not work. I have checked the fuses (all of them just to be safe - under the hood and in the car) they are all good.
Does anyone have a 'second' place I might look to see why they are not working. I have not checked to make sure that I am getting power to the switch so as soon as I can get a volt meter of some kind that is my next step. If I am in fact getting power to the switch; what should I check next? And, on the other side, if I am NOT getting power to the switch, where should I look.
When I picked up my switch from the dealer, he mentioned it could be something called either the fuse cluster/bundle. Can't remember exactly what he said.
So, anyone have any ideas?

I went and got a low voltage tester at the store earlier to test the wiring at the molex connecter to make sure that there was power, well, much to my surprise, I was not able to check for power (I now know that that's not what happens there), but, If I take a grounded source, say my continuity tester and touch the contacts of the molex connector -- suprise, surprise; the locks will work in that manner.
So, now with the plot even thicker; does this shed any light on to what might be the matter?

you might want to check the ground wire(s) on the power door lock module located on the drivers door --behind the door panel
also check the wires that run between the door & the body ---ive seen them wear out due to opening & closing the door a lot

It sounds like you are talking about oem locks but DXs never had power locks. Could they be aftermarket?
By they way, Honda uses a negative trigger locking system on its oem locks so it is what will happen if you test it with a cheap tester, the locks will lock/unlock when you touch the wire.

As far as I know, the locks are OEM. This is actually a Civic VP - everyone just keeps telling me to refer to it as a DX when referring about work that needs to be done on it; so I take that route. Sorry for any possible confusion.
Oh, boy - I guess my next step is to take the door panel off and see what is going on in there. What is the easiest way to take the panel off and is there anything in particular (aside from the power door lock module mentioned above) that I should be looking for once I get it off?
