Default Problems closing trunk

Many times when I close my trunk lid I'll hear it click but I have to still push down on it again to hear it lock in place, even after this at times I can pull upward on the trunk and open it myself. I'm assuming this is a locking mechanism failure, easy to fix?, just replace the locking mech.? Do I have to go through the dealer for that?

Thanks guys

It probably just needs to be adjusted, and you can do that yourself.

This is going to seem funny. Put your back seat down, and get in the trunk with a flashlight. Have someone slowly close the trunk and watch it close. Chances are its not going down into the lock enough. You can adjust it by moving he part up a little bit, this way it will close tighter.
