The sensor that controls the fan (on the thermostat housing) is not connected to the ECU. The ECU's coolant temperature sensor is screwed into the head under the distributor. It's the one with two wires. The one near it with one wire drives the temperature gauge on the dash.

yes, i reattached the 2 wire one. i had the codes ran at autozone before the fact and now am going to get it ran again. none of you guys would happen to have aftermarket side skirts or rear bumper for my car would you?
