Default project car

hi everyone i have a 1997 honda civic si coupe with a D16Y8(and stock transmission) in it. the car is structurally sound, needs body work done, and needs work done on the interior. the engine in it now works fine. car and engine has 285,xxx kms on it.

we are looking at another honda civic, this civic is a 1997 honda civic CX hatchback with a B16B(and stock tranny w/short throw) in it. this car was parked back in 2006 because the frame and body is shot. the engine has 60,xxx kms on it. body has roughly 350,xxx kms on it. this car was actually used in our annual Newfoundland Targa Rally.

we're going to buy the hatchback for the windshield, some of the interior, random parts around for functionality (eg. trunk&gas cap latch, front left and right fenders, back and front bumpers, rims) we're also going to try and swap the engine into our coupe, which should be no problem since it was already swapped into his hatchback. the hatchback doesn't have power steering, or cruise, or p/l,p/w.

questions are:
1) will the bumpers from the Hatchback fit the Si Coupe?
2) will the front fenders from the Hatchback fit the Si Coupe?
3) will the trunk latch from the Hatchback work with the Si Coupe?
4) will the engine swap over without any big problems?
5) will the carpet and ceiling fabric from the Hatchback fit the Si Coupe?
6) will cruise control, power steering, p/w, p/l all work when the B16B is inside the coupe?
7) the ignition coil is bad on the B16B, will the ignition coil from the D16Y8 fit the B16B?
8) the alternator is seized on the B16B, will the alternator from the D16Y8 fit the B16B?

as far as I know the front bumper and fenders should swap over no problem. Rear bumper I kinda doubt, but it might. Interior bits should swap over, but not to sure about the headliner and carpet... those probably won't swap.

Mechanical wise you'll have to get someone else to help you out. I'm not sure how much can/will swap between the D and the B series.

front bumper and fenders will fit, rear wont, headliner wont, carpet might.

to swap the motor over it should be a pretty simple swap since its already in a civic.
you will need to swap it all over including the axles, shift linkages, trans, harness and ecu.

coil will work, alternator wont, cruise will if the b16 has it on the throttle body, ps you will need the b series pump and bracket

can i take the cruise control off the d16 throttle body? if not, where would i find one? i think the engine came out of a Civic SiR which had all the premium options.

this car did not have power steering so there is no power steering at all, do you know where i would find one?
