Default pump brakes

My dad and I are doing work to my brothers old accord, to try to get it running prime again. Our next project are the brakes. The brakes didn't work at all in it so mydad topped it off awhile back, but air got into it and they worked even worse. So wepumped the brakes through a hose and added more fluid in, it works better nowbut we still need to pump the brakeswhile driving to stop good. We haven't seen any signs of a leak but not 100% thatthere isn't one. My dads thinking of just bringing it to a mechanic now but I still want to try to get this resolved ourselves. Any advice?

We alsoreplaced the passenger rear drum and brakes, checked the other side and didn't look as bad so we just cleaned it. Thats side of the car used to lock and skid but doesn't do it as bad now.
