Default question on aem v2

is the v2 for the 99-00 si the same as the 96-00 ex ? or the intake itself is different?

I don't know if the intake itself is different. But the replacement transmission mount is definitely different.

on wikipedia, the engines appear to be different : d16y8 on the EX and b16a2 on the si. if this is indeed true, then no, it won't fit. don't quote me on this though

that isn't random at all. when you install the V2, you have to replace the transmission mount. the one they give you for a EX will not fit on a Si trans

if you dont use the transmission mount it MIGHT work

just by looking at these two engines, just look where the intake mounts:

Mobstas d16y8, same engine in the EX

vs. the B16a2

you can just look at the where it mounts and it would probably work, but if you can find one for the EX i say get it, there MIGHT be fitment problems but in the end i bet you could make it work

the reason they GIVE you the mount, is you NEED the mount. Otherwise it wouldn't be included

it is about an inch thinner, and it has the mounting point for the intake. Without that, there is nothing supporting the weight of the intake
