Default Radiator help

Anyone know how to change out a radiator? Sprung a leak from the top...anyways, I have a EX 98, auto trans, w/AC.
Its just really expensive to have someone put in a new radiator and if I could save money by doing it myself, I could get that
FLUIDYNE radiator instead. Plus, it dosent seem that hard...does it? Thanks!

No worries. That's what the forum is good for. Good luck. Sorry the quality of the jpg wasn't very clear.

hey, what about those CD tech manuals on flea-bay? they any good as far as general help on fixing small problems? id really like to start working on my car myself rather than bringing it into the shop...my buddy was a service writer, he told me the write up for parts & labor is something like 300% in some cases!

jsut get a haynes manual. they are a lot easier to read than those cd ones. they only run about 15 bucks in an auto parts store. and a radiator is easy. i did one in a parking lot on my lunch break once.

Yeah I'd go with the Haynes unless you want to print everything off and run to the puter every 5 mins. Unless of course your using a laptop. But the haynes is the better route to go.

If you want to learn to do everything, not just what the haynes manuals tell you, get a factory service manual. I work at a motorcycle/offroad shop and there are things in there that you won't find enywhere else! It might be a lil expensive if I recall, but deffinately detailed, precise and made by the MANYFACTURER FOR THE CAR! Those other ones are good if you need something in a jiffy with an ok job. Factory service manuals list everything from the wiring diagram to how to open the trunk! They've got it all. If you plan on doing some a lot of work on your car, and your not to sure, spend the extra penny and get the real deal!

awsome, thanks guys! i'll run out and pick up the factory manual 2morrow soon as i get out of class. its a bummer really, i wanted to get some cool stuff for my car (like those damn angel eyes..grrrr) but i got to fix the radiator 1st before doing anything else like that. after all, what goods a pair of nice looking headlights on a car with a shot engine! btw, how much does the factory manual cost...and can i pick it up at barnes & noble or pep boys?

I think it does take a good hit to your wallet, but like I said if you plan on doing a bunch of stuff to it sepecially yourself. that's the way to go. As far as getting it from pepboys or barnes and noble, probably not. go to or call your dealer ship. If they say why you need it tell them you are openning your own bussiness or something. I think it's not "available" to just any one. Other wise you shouldn't have a problem with it! Good luck let us know the price you paid or what it cost if you don't get one.
