Default Rear Defrost Timer

Hi

I recently bought a car starter but the 01 Civic LX Rear Defrost stays on for a max of 7 minutes.
Due to the extreme weather in the winter, I'd like to increase this closer to 15minutes.

Can this be done ?

If it's like older models, the timer is in the button. I think it is a simple resistor-capacitor circuit that could be modified by changing the resistor or capacitor. Or it should also work to just pull the control wire to ground which will close the relay under the hood and energize the defogger. Maybe your starter has an aux output of some sort that can be programmed to do that.

The reason it has a timer is that the defogger puts a rather heavy load on the alternator.
