1998 Honda Civic Sedan

My passenger rear door will not open from the outside, only inside handle opens it. When I use the outside handle, it feels like it is not attached to any linkage, but has normal tension just like if it was locked.

Maybe coincidence, but this happened after i installed an alarm.

take the door panel off and look inside at it, the linkage may just need adj.

 

i was going to say child proofing but thats the opposite way around, like chb said, your best bet would be to take off the pannel and inspect, pull it from the outside and see waht it does and then pull it from the inside. it could just be a spring or something small like that
