Default Replacing rear drums

I have a 2001 Civic EX. We just replaced the rear shoes, but now cannot reinstalled the new drum over them. The adjuster has been turned all the way down. Any ideas on what we did wrong?

Wrong shoes or drums? Take a shoe off and hold it inside the drum see if it matches the curvature of the drum. Do the same thing with old vs. new drums and shoes.

Default Solution

We did check out the parts, just to be sure they were correct. The new drum and shoes fit fine off the car. What we discovered helped, was putting the spring on the adjuster clip on last. That allowed us to push the pistons in closer inside the cylinder and therefore the shoes moved in, too.
