Guys,
Got a Civic Type s (52 plate) just dropped it off for it's 2nd service, the service guy said because it's done less than 20k miles, they can do the basic service (£189), quite a lot considering that's no plugs, so it's only a couple of filters and some oli! Anyway, told the guy it runs a bit lumpy when cold (sounds like the plugs needing changing), anyway, they just called me and said they can't find a fault so they are suggesting the plugs are changed and the tappets are checked. I said that's fine but this problem has been here for a couple of months therefore there must be another problem which has caused the plugs deteriate this quickly. If so, surely this is more of a problem and warranty claim. Another thing is they've said the disc and pads will need doing in about 6k which shocked me as I have a Primera which has done 146k on the same disc, so how can my disc be gone in under 20k miles? I don't drive like a mad man!! Are there standard Honda prices for services? I know BMW's are expensive but the 2 year service they are suggesting basically the same as the the intinal one suggested just with new plugs is £284 + VAT, £333 – your having a laugh! It would be cheaper to buy and run a Porsche – well not quite! Starting to loose faith in Honda pretty quickly!!!
