Default Shifting problems.. 2001 civic

Hi all,
Well sometimes it just sucks to be a girl. I am having problems keeping my car in 5th gear. It keeps popping out when I accelerate. It is also difficult to put the darn thing in reverse. Is this a transmission thing or a clutch thing? I dont want to get ripped off when I go into try to get it fixed.

it sounds like a bad synconizer and to go into rev. a little easier hold clutch in and shift 1st...2nd...then go over to rev... how long has it been since the trans fluid has been changed....its to late now if hasnt been done i just wanted to know but you will probably either get a new trans or have a trans shop rebuid your trans..
