Short Ram Intake Help
Hey guys,
I got a honda civic 2000 si. Its canadian so its a US Ex. Its got the d16y8. I recently picked up a brand new DC sports short ram intake from ebay. I bought it from Canada. Now my question is that on the stock air box, there are three (3) tubes and clips connected. I think one is a sensor. And the other two are tubes. The short ram only has 2 inputs. I know the tube from the top of the engine and the sensor go into the short ram intake. But what about the other tube? Have i purchased the wrong intake? Here is my intake. Keep in mind i have a d16y8 engine. If i have the right equipment could you guys advise me towards the right way on what to do. Thanks in advance. If you need anymore info let me know please.

Does the diagram in the picture help at all (click on picture)? Might the extra tube connect to the FIA control valve?

The diagram is hard to read. The image is very blurred. I saw some install guides on the DIY thread. The person had removed a whole section of tubing. I am starting to think thats what i have to do. But i really don't want to mess the car up. :S
Yes there are 3. At least with my car, this is how it goes. One is tube that sucks air that goes into somethign with the cooling, I'm not really sure. The second is a TA sensor (temperature sensor) that helps the ECU with fuel control, and the 3rd according to my friend, I may be wrong, but is part of the crank case ventilation system (its the one that the tube runs from the valve cover) and all it does is blow air (and some oil) back into your intake. The 3rd is the one that is not really necessary to be hooked up to the intake, because usally people put some kind of filter on the tube, or on the valve cover bung where the tube connects to.
Here's the filter here:

The picture below provides a brief description of the FIA control valve.

I think your right. Going to ebay this and get an AEM. Thanks for the look out.

Yeah ok...This shop also tried to sell me the same intake because he said it was dc sports. I didn't even have a CARB # on it. Thats why I just bought an AEM intake and it was actually cheaper than the DAC Intake
