obd1 engine from obd2
Hey everyone! i am doing an obd1 block and head in a 1997 civic with odb2 wiring. SO i have to switch out the oil pump because the obd1 engine doesnt have that crank sensor. i am going NUTS over here trying to get that crank pulley bolt off, (you know which one i am talking about
) it just wont BUDGED. So now i am wondering, What if i just bought one of those obd2b to obd1 ecu conversion harnesses? Would i have to switch out any other sensors because i am using a obd2 intake manifold? if it would work, would i just leave the crank sensor plug, unplugged? OR could i just ground the crank sensor wires and just use the obd2 ecu? Please help me get out of this mess the easiest and cheapest way possible. A ecu conversion thing is only $45, but i am not sure if that is the best of way doing things, and if that will even help me. please help me. it will be the best thing in the world to me. i would EXTREMELY appreciate it. thank you so much, daveee

dam i wish this forum was answer. i got a 96 lx civic with a d16z6 engine in it. the car came with this engine when i bought it. but when i floor it on a automatic D3 gear on the highway the needle move soooooooo dammmmmmm SLLOOOOWWWW on RPM 5000+. even if it was on D4 it really slow i would have to let go of the gas to change gear into the 4th and it'll still be slow i gotta stick with 4500 and less or im just wasting lot of gas. basically any civic stock or accord can circle around me while im gunnin it. to be more specific.. from 5000 rpm it takes about 7 second to get to 5100 rpm. now i did my homework and correct what doesnt belong. the fact that the engine is obd1.. but the distributor, intake, ecu, wire harness is obd2.. i also found 2 plug that's attack to a bracket.. it's thick and it's blue its located underneat the intake manifold and it's connected to NOTHING. and another plug which is grey near the alternator is connected to nuthing. and my vtec is connect to NOTHING. all that matter to me right now is that i get the vtec and my power on the 5-6rpm like every other car. help?

Why don't you start another thread, your problem has basically nothing to do with the original post. Pictures will help.
