Default Skipping timing bad!

Did a motor swap and the car runs but it skips timing really bad. We thought it was either the waterpump or tensioner that was locking up but it wasn't because we took it out and there both fin. When I bought the motor it came with bad injectors but it was replaced. What could it possibly be. Another thing that is weird is we just put a full tank of gas in it and after a few times of fixing the timing on the car it some how lost 1/2 tank. Any thoughts?

Default RE: Skipping timing bad!

i dont like the way honda has this designed. the belt on mine skipped. and that was after i fixed plug and spark plug wiring problem. well, i should say it was at the same time. i never changed the belt and had put bout 40 k on it. so, new belt.
new belt on and after a short time - it skipped.
working on a 88 1.5 liter.
according to haynes, the only tension that is there is by the spring attached to the tensioner pulley. just pull up on the spring and attach the spring to the post.
i did not like that - so i put just a little extra tension on it with a steel chisel wedged underneath the arm that the spring is attached to.

but i still thought that i should get a new spring. still did not want to take a chance. got a new spring. also, again i put a little extra tension on it , and tightened up the nut with that little extra tension on the spring. so far, so good.
