Default Smell Of Diesel

Hi Everyone.

I am new to this forum and am after any advice anyone can offer me on an issue i have with my civic.

I own a 2006 plate 2.2 diesel civic and have been getting the smell of diesel coming into the cabin. This is not very noticable driving about town, but when have been driving at speed for example on a motorway/A road.

I have looked under the car and cant see any evidence of a fuel leak and was wondering if anyone on here had any suggestions to what may be the cause.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What country are you in? Most of us have no experience with diesel cars, as there are very few of them here in the US.

A fuel leak may burn off or evaporate if it lands on a hot engine or exhaust component. While the car is running, open the hood and search for leaking with a flashlight. Fuel leaks are very serious and can result in a fire, so if the leak seems to be getting worse, have it fixed immediately.

Also if it's an exhaust leak it can be serious as well, especially driving at night when you're tired already. Could make you pass out altogether while driving.
