So i sold my 97 civic lx 4dr yesterday. never had a problem with it ever. Lady drove around the block and it wouldnt go. engine runs, grinds when shifting between park and nuteral and drive. it's an automatic and just had the cv axle shafts(both sides) replaced last week. the car can be pushed forward and back while in park. hope its not the tranny. Any ideas? getting it looked at on saturday.

 

One of the shafts was not fully seated in the transmission, and it popped out. Take it back to whoever did the axle work. The transmission should still be OK after this, other than some of the fluid ran out.
