REMOVING 3RD BRAKE LIGHT OUT BACK WINDOW
ORIGINAL: mk378
I think it is secured by nuts that can be reached from inside the trunk.

Then thats gonna be real fun. You are gonna have to take off your seats and take off a couple of panels then at last take off that top shelf. If your just gonna tint your window, they usually just cut around it and it comes out looking ok.
It's not going to be built into the car like that. You may have to finesse it out but it's not attached by anything other than the nuts on the bottom.
Course having tint under the light would make it dimmer, not as safe.

ya well cuting around it does look like crap... its just a 3rd brake light
ya got 2 more
i know on my 99 i had to remove the whole rear shelf, it had some fat looking plastic clips that ya just squized and pushed up, it took alot longer to remove the side panels because they overlap the rear deck.
i just removed mine, took it to them to have it retinted because he had bubbles and cutout around the brake light that i did not like! and when i got back home i put the rear deck all back together. tho i would sugest if the retainer clips just slide onto the deck i would get a hot glue gun and put some glue all around the ends where the clips slide into.. because with mine i had a few slide out when reinstaling it.
