I have a 98 civic ex and the Power Window works fine when the door is open but once you close it then it doesn't work.

#2
My Dome light doesn't work at all. The bulb is fine.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks

as for the dome light check the door triggers are clean and still plugged in. just pull the rubber back from the top and remove the philips screw.

now the windows and door open now thats odd! only thing i can think of is maybe the door loom is damaged or the plug is coroded or just loose.

where is the door trigger on my car?

Btw the window only works when you physically have the door open.. not when you flip the open switch on the door. When you physically close the door the window stops working. Inother words, when the door is closed... I cant control the window from openning or closing, but when the door is open then I have control of the window again.

door triggers are in the door jams on the rear part of the door frame. it should be a black rubber pin basically. towards rear of door frame on vehicle, not the door itself.

ok well its not that. When i move the door slightly to a closed position but not where it touches, the window stops working.

you have a short somewhere in the wiring. you could just run new wires from the switches. but that would be a pain in the rear so idk what to do. **** it

The wires break in the gap between the frame and the door, where they flex every time you open the door. I think on a 98 that may be a relatively inexpensive part since it plugs in separate instead of being part of the whole dash harness.
