Some quick questions
Whats up everyone, just got a few things I was hoping someone here could enlighten me on:
I put a B&M short shifter in my 2000 DX coupe a few weeks ago and it works/feels great
. BUT...there is an annoying rattling coming from the shifter, especially around 1500-3000rpm. It isnt ridiculously loud but if I don't have the music turned up to a decent volume its an annoying *** background sound. Anyone have any suggestions? Also the stock bolts connecting the shift plate to the shift linkage were rusted and broke getting them off and i had to replace them. I couldnt find any square headed bolts like the stock ones so I used regular bolts with washers, and I also put in the ES shift stabilizer bushings. Not sure if that would contribute.
Also I have manual windows and the drivers side will roll down part way then start slanting forward and get stuck, and then becomes hard to roll back up. Is there an easy fix for this? I took it to a shop and they said until they took off the door and looked at it they could only say it would be between $50 and $300, which seems too much for a crank down window.
And another question, what does the little "maintenance required" indicator in the speedo cluster signify? what type of maintenance? when i got the car at 113,XXX it was green, then went to orange, and is now red. The car has 121,XXX on it now but no "check" lights (check engine, check oil, etc.) have come on even though the indicator is red. Is it just reminding me to get the 120,000 mile honda recommended service?
Thanks in advance, I know someone on this forum has experienced the exact same things at some point and knows the answer

Get under the car and shake things around to see what is making the noise.
Usually you need the "window regulator" when a window does that, or it could be just that one of the tracks is out of adjustment. If you pull the inner door panel off yourself it is fairly obvious how it works.
The owner's manual explains the maintenance required light. It is just a timer based on time and miles. You can push a few buttons to get a code for which maintenance is due. You can also reset it back to green yourself (preferably after the maintenance has actually been done).

IMO the maintance thing is a joke! just change your oil properly. and reset that stupid thing with the key or a stick. its nothing more than like your trip meter. resets the same way.
What resets the maintenance required thing? I do not have an owners manual so I dunno the steps to turn it green again, I just dont like seeing this glowing red rectangle every time I look at my speedometer lol even if nothing is actually wrong (car doesnt really feel any different as far as i can tell)
Sounds as if your window track is bent and the window is off the guide. If you take the door panel off and peel back the plastic vapor barrier you can see the window guide track. Check to see it it working smoothly... if not adjust the bolt attaching it to the door and re-seat the window in the track. If it is really bent and it won't stay in the track you can drill another hole in the door and move the track in slightly and re-bolt it.
