SPEEDO HELP!!!

Default SPEEDO HELP!!!

oki guys, here's the deal....ive got this '98 civic ex....my only problem is that the speedometer isnt working. the rmp gauge works. the gas & the temp gauges both work, but the speedometer doesnt show me how fast i'm going nor does it record the miles......maybe one of you can help me? or kind of give me an idea of wat could be wrong??? much appreciated!!!

99% sure its your speed sensor. If you look on the back of the tranny, pointing up you should see it.

dude i have the same problem and i just installed a speed sensor on my 96 dx hatch and it didnt do anything. i think it might be the connectors on the back of the gauge cluster.

I had the same problem with my 95 ex and the check engine light came on. had the speed sensor replaced for $150 and woks fine now

I replaced the vss on my 94 ex ($100), had a shop pull the tranny and check the speed gear (ok), finally had to order a used cluster (works fine now).Haynes has a manual at most parts stores that will tell you how to check and replace almost everything on your car.
