i got a 92 dx, 1.5l, 5sp man trans. when i turn on my lights the speedo drops to 0. it only happens when i use the headlights. what the fee-fi.

 

Thoroughly clean and tighten the G201 and G401 ground wire connections:

 

thanx ronj!! i have already removed and cleaned the vss with elect. no-flash cleaner and have also checked the g201 and g401. all is well, i had good speedo all the way to work (25 mi.) and i hope it gets me home in the a.m. (nightshifter) when i left work this morning i turned on defrst,hdlts and radio and i can't believe how i lost voltage so dramatically!!

 

You seem to have a power problem. Try cleaning the battery posts, connectors, and ground wire on the chassis.

Afterward, with the engine idling, check the voltage across the battery posts without a load and with high load (high beams and other accessories ON). You may have a bad battery or alternator.
