Default Speedometer Dont Work?

Do i change the Speed Sensor. Or Could it possibly be the Cluster Itself....?
Anything will help. Thanks

If the odometer still works, definitely sensor is OK; change the cluster. If the CEL comes on, probably sensor trouble, pull ECU code to confirm. If it's looking like it's the sensor, check for loose or corroded wires at the sensor plug before buying a new sensor.

yes, it's common with almost all vehicles. for some reason, with civics, it just likes to happen more so.

if the sensor is ok, don't change the cluster. to save money on your behalf go to discounthondaparts.com and try to buy the little unit within the cluster itself. it should cost no more than 80 dollar for the unit. hey, if can't find that site let me know and i'll try to help u.

My speedometer was sticking at 20mph about 50% of the time I was driving. The odomoter wasn't working if the speedometer wasn't moving at the time. My mechanic diagnosed a cracked speedometer head and I had to replace it and have the odometer reset. Speed sensor was fine.
