Default SRS light on. Why?

All,

I replaced my brake pads and while I was at it, I also replace the brake fluid in my 1996 EX. Question, what could I have done to cause the SRS light to come on?

I tried re-setting it but could not get it to go off. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Just in case you did not know, the SRS is the Supplemental Restraint System otherwise known as the airbag. Changing pads and brake fluid should not trigger this light, unless you somehow managed to damage the crash sensors on the car. I have had mine come on and just had a garage reset it using a standerd ODB II reading device. Mine never came on since. If you can not get it off I would suggest having it professionally checked. Airbags are great but you do not want it to deploy for no reason or not deploy at all. They are a little dangerous to try to work on.

Good Luck,
KR

agreeing to what kj said, i think you changing the breaks shouldnt have set it off. There are sensors around the body of the car that tell the air bags to be deployed. These are the sensors kj is talking about.I'm with him, air bags are good only until they go off on their own. Get it check before you or a passenger get hurt. Air bags have deployed on their own. Just please becareful...peace
