What car do you have? It might be a bad sensor.

1992 honda civic lx, the haynes manual says this problem is common among 92 civics, its a leaking check valve in the fuel pump..... but my fuel pump tested fine

more than likely when you leave your car for a while the fuel pressure will drop, hince when you crank your car it has to build up fuel pressure.
