Default Steering problem

Hi!

I am an owner of a Honda Civic type S.

First of all, the cars goes to the right while been driven in a straight part of the road.
Also the gears are a bit stiff (especially 1st,2nd and Reverse).

But what really concerns me is the steering of the car, so if someone has some info or had a similar problem, please post back.

If the administrator thinks it should be moved to another thread, then ok. I just couldn't find one similar

thank you

Regarding the pull, first check whether all your tires are properly inflated. If they are fine, then take your Civic to a shop to have a wheel alignment.

Regarding the stiff gears, try draining and replacing the transmission fluid. Use Honda transmission fluid.

Yes low air pressure is a very common cause of this, so check that first.

A minor "pull" could be normal. Most roads are "crowned" so they are high in the center and your car will tend to go to the low side (to the right) when driving in the right lane. Some cars have rather heavy power steering so this isn't very noticeable, but Civics don't.

Try driving in the left lane of a 4 lane road and if it still wants to go right (toward the high center of the road), something is wrong.

Default steering goes right (part b)

Thanx guys for the quick reply!

As for the tire pressure, it is checked!
I have already crossed the tires and checked allignment. It is still there....
Even if the wheel is turned slightly to the left, after a while the car will be pulled back to the right...
What can i say, it is a new car and frustration is knocking at my door.
Any suggestions? What should i check next?

Thanx

Did you recently have an accident or did you hit a big pothole?

Put the front end on stands, crawl under, and look for any bent or damaged components of the front suspension. Comparing the left and right sides may be most informative.

By the way, if your Civic is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, then take the car to your Honda dealer for service.
