I'm starting to hear a strange noise that sounds like a squeaky chirp-like noise... I think it's some kind of fan or something
the noise isn't really loud but loud enough to be noticed. seems to be coming somewhere behind the dash but more
towards the passenger side. anyone know what this is?

 

Most probably blower. Either leaves got through cabin air intake and got stuck in the blower, or blower motor is dying slowly...

 

is that something easy to fix? not sure where the blower motor is located but i'll take a look at the manual.

 

Somewhere behind the glove box. It's not too hard to remove, but before you do this, just make a simple test - when you hear your noise, turn the fan off...
And if you have to replace the motor, you better get a used one off junkyard - new ones are ridiculously expensive...

 

i've got the same problem in my 98...


i just turn the music up louder

 

it might be a belt, they squeel. depending on what car.
