Strange Engaging D
My 2001 Civic VTI Auto behaved strangely when I engage D to drive off.
Symptoms:
Cold start, RPM goes to 1200, gradually reducing while it runs, get ready to drive off, engage D, the RPM will rev upto 1200 then drop to like 200(engine shake like dying off) then back to 1200, down to 200 for fewcycles before settling at the normal800 for driving off.During the first 10 minutes after drive off, sometimes when I brake to stop, the car will feels like suddenly become free gear then back on gear, causing the car to jerk slightly.
But onceafter the 10 minutes of driving off, it behaves normally, smooth as usual, no jerk nostrange noise etc.
My mileage is about 90000km (55000miles), car is stock,no mods.
I have just done a major service, all oils and plugsare changed.
Hope the experts here can offer some advice.
Thanks!

Check the transmission fluid level now because dropping out of gear when you brake or turn (cauing the fluid to slosh around in the pan) is a sign that it is low. Don't assume that they propelry filled it or it isn't leaking.
The engine idling erraticly is probably unrelated to the transmission. The idle air control valve may need to be cleaned.
