Default Stutter

Hi, I have a 1996 Civic EX - 2 door, 1.6 SOHC. It has 175,000 miles on her. Recently she has started stuttering during acceleration. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Is this a typical problem?

Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks

Could be a few things that I've experienced before.
Head gasket leak or cracked block allowing coolant into engine or engine exhaust into coolant system. Check engine temperature for any weird changes.
Faulty O2 sensor or MAP sensor. Check for higher fuel consumption.
