i have a d16y7 turbo and the other day i was driving getting up to 5k and it started popping and backing fire felt like the car was breaking up... the next day it seemed find until driving home it started doing it again except now from 1k to redline car shakes really bad and feels like it has no power at all... i did a compression test and it was 150 across the board, i pulled the spark plugs and they were black i replaced them and they seem to look fine now, i also replaced my o2 sensor took the cap n rotor off all looks fine not corosion or and wear any other suggestions at what it could be ive been trying to figure it out or over a week no and evryone i show it to cant figure it out. btw there is now check engine light and the car idles fine

 

Pull the codes if you have a CEL.

Have you replaced the spark plug wires and fuel filter?

Have you tested the coil and ICM?

 

no CEL, i have msd 8.5mm plug wires.. how would i go about checking the coil and icm?

 

i pulled my valve cover off today and check the valve springs and they were all good no cracks or weak springs, i took out a brand new o2 sensor that i had in the car for a week and it was black as hell my af gauge is reading 20 constantly but when i check the plugs they didnt look to bad either car still idles fine but major lack of power when given gas and a lot of hesistation and missfire feelings please help with any other ideas

 

check for possible blown head gasket? i blew mine in my d15b7 and it had similar symptoms
