Throttle position sensor...

Throttle position sensor...
I think the actual sensor is fine, but the plug... there's three wires on it. And one of them is frayed apart and disconnected. My car idles at 2k when in park or neutral, and when i let off the gas the rpms dont drop like a normal car, they stay around the same spot. As soon as i shift into drive/reverse from park, rpm's drop to about normal.
So i guess my question is, is there a place to buy the plug with wires and not just the actual sensor? Because I think that part is fine. I think my MPGs are suffering a little bit, I'm only getting mid to high 20s when i ***** foot it around all the time...
I used to think it was an idle problem, like with the IACV or FITV and i cleaned both of them, and nothing happened. Finally started showing a CEL and i pulled it, it was the code for a TPS (throttle position sensor) hence, the thread title. So, help please haha. All comments appreciated.
oh yeah, it's a 1992 dx sedan, automatic (yeah yeah I know, I was gonna swap it to a 5 spd but... haha)

Phalen,
If I remember correctly, hondapartsnow.com may sell the plug and wires independently from the sensor assembly, so peruse through the parts listing for your model year Civic.
On a related note, have you ruled out the possibility that your IACV isn't bad? You stated that you cleaned it but sometimes those efforts can be in vein should the IACV happen to be faulty..

Officially, you're supposed to change the whole engine wire harness. Unofficially, you can cut the plug out of a junked car and splice it into your car. A large range of Hondas and possibly other Japanese cars from the '90s will have the same sensor and plug.

Did you ever get your tps issue figured out? I'm having the same prob. Tps is new, plug was bad. I hardwired it straight to harness. Still getting stuttering and occasional cel #7. I'm at wits end. Please let me know what you discovered.
Thanks,
John
