Default Time for a New clutch?

Whats up everyone, im new to this forum. About a week ago i started up my 96 Civc EX, engaged the clutch with the car in neutral, and it made a sound that sounded like the gears were grinding. When i engaged the clutch to the floor it stopped, as well as when i completely let it out, but halfway down it made the sound. I turned my car off then turned it back on and it stopped, it hasnt made that sound since. So should i be worried? Should i replace the clutch, or was it just a random occurance? Thanks in advance for any help

P.S= the car has 104k miles on it, if that is of any help

Your clutch throw out bearing may be going bad.

This is one of those problems that will progressively get worse before something totally fails and leaves the car unable to move. So you don't absolutely need to do anything right now.

Most people replace the whole clutch set once they have the transmission out of the car. It is a moderately difficult DIY job because the transmission has to be removed.
