timing belt
i'm redoing my timing belt. someone said to place a pin on the cam. what kind of pin? and where on the cam? i'm just lining up the two dashes on the pulley to the egde of the head with the "up" word directly up. will this by enough?
there are two holes in the cam covers, or where the cams ride on a sohc, and when its exactly at tdc, you can slip an allen wrench or other appropriately sized metal rod into the hole, it will go into a hole in the cam and lock them in place. then you set the crank pulley at tdc, and slip on the belt. its simple. ill try to get pics, but my lifes busy as hell right now, so i dont know when ill get a chance.
