Timing belt which size?Need Info

Default Timing belt which size?Need Info

Ok taking the big step in doing my timing belt and went to purchase and found two different belt sizes that supposedly both fit my car 00 civic lx. one is 124 teeth 46 1/2 in length, the other 104 teeth 39 in. length how can both fit my car, and which one should i get? any info would be great.

Call your local dealership and ask which one is needed for your car

i did and they said they only have a part number and dont have an actual size that they could tell me the belt is 55 dollars at honda and the goodyear is like 28 if i could just find what size to get

Call up the dealership again and ask if they have the part number for the timmingbelt for a D16Y7... if they ask you what that is tell them they need to find a new job lol

Frankly I would not try to save on timing belt and I would get an OEM one. These penny savings can turn into a huge dollar loss if the belt brakes...

i looked at the goodyear website and it shows the smaller belt being for the y7 and y8 and the 124 tooth for the dohc engines b engines which makes sense. i'll probably go with the smaller one according to the goodyear website and if it's wrong can always take back.

....not really. Like Misha said, don't skimp on this. Pay the extra money and get one from the dealership
