Too much oil

Default Too much oil

I have a 2000 Civic EX coupe. It uses a lot of oil and Iadded too much. Now it is smoking profusely and running really rough. I didnt drive it home. What do I need to do?

drain some of the oil out through the drain plug on the oil pan.

first, drain it, then refill back to the correct level with the same oil or clean oil, either or

I did this a few months back, put the car up on ramps wait till the drain plug is cool enough to hold with hand. Then untwist slowly till the oil starts draining, hold it steady in place, if you want it to drain quicker twist slowly further and hold slightly at an angle.
