TPMS light wont go off
Hi
I have a 2012 civic hybrid. Recently the TPMS (tire pressure monitor system) light went on. I checked the tire pressure in all tires and they are fine. Why is the light still on, and what could be causing this/ Is it something serious? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx!

If you have a compressor handy, you might try dropping the air pressure in each tire by about 5 psi, and then airing them back up to where they should be. Also be aware that your tpms will not react immediately to changes in pressure. Sometimes it can take up to 50 miles of driving before it reacts. I'm not sure if there is a tpms sensor in the spare tire in the trunk, but you might check that just to be sure it's OK.

So, did the light go out? If not, stop at an Autozone or O'reilly's and see if they can reset it. If they can't, try a local tire dealer. They all have the handheld scanner for resetting the tpms. Don't go to the dealer. They'll charge you an arm and a leg. It only takes about 5 minutes to scan and reset all 4 tire monitors.
