Default trans problem

i have a 91 si, on my way home from work i went to shift gears, and the clutch pedal dropped to the floor (like the clutch cable snapped), but i was able to shift, when i went to shift again the clutch pedal felt ok but i didnt have to use that much pressure to push it down. now when i go to take off from a complete stop the car does alot of jerking, and the clutch pedal and transmission feel loose. does anybody have any ideas?

how can i check the f ucking fluid when the car does not use it!!!!!!!!!!!! dumbass!!!!!!!!!!! I checked the the cable and it looks and moves fine. I think the problem is with the pressure plate, because the clutch started sliping a couple of days later.
