Troubleshoot a ignition?
I have been dealing with a starting issue. I am just wondering if someone has a walkthrough on the back side of the ingition. For instance green wire fuel pump on first click that should have 12v to it.....

Please provide up-to-date answers to these questions:
1) Have you checked for spark?
2) Does the fuel pump prime?
3) Is the CEL ON? If so, did you retrieve a code or does the CEL remain ON steady with the service connector jumped?

Will check after work tomorrow, I know for sure there is no fuel pump prime. I will check spark and then CEL count.
Thanks for the response once again!
Now when it stopped working i was clicking the ignition back and forth pretty rapidly. Since then I have not had the fuel pump prime... That is the only reason I am after the ignition as a problem?......
I also received a PM from someone on the site saying that if they jiggled there key just right they could get there car to start. There problem was the same as mine at least is what the PM said.... Any thoughts??? Maybe somewhere i can jiggle wires since i have the column exposed...? As i sit there looking at the steering wheel waiting to hit the wrong wire and pop the air bag LOL!!!

When you turn the key to ON(II), do the dash warning lights turn ON?
Have you checked whether fuse 31, 24, or 18 is blown?
If you don't hear the fuel pump prime, then the main relay may be bad.

1) Have you checked for spark? No Spark!
2) Does the fuel pump prime? Nope....
3) Is the CEL ON? If so, did you retrieve a code or does the CEL remain ON steady with the service connector jumped? Ok, when i jump the connection and turn the key on to the 2nd position the CEL stays on solid but what does blink the whole time is the SRS light. Do that mean anything to you?? I have replaced the main fuel pump relay also and fuel pump.. I have jumped it and with 12v and heard the fuel pump so i know it works... the relay may be questionable it was from napa.......
Now when i first started this I was chasing the spark issue and I replace the chip in the distro the rotor the coil the cap and wires also and plugs them selves. I am willing to re-trace all my steps just looking for a idea where to start. I also checked to make sure the timing belt was working my lifters move when the wife was turning the engine over.

You are getting CEL code 0, which signifies a problem with the ECU. This could indicate a bad ECU, or a problem with the ECU getting power or ground.
Start by checking the three fuses I mentioned and also check whether the crucial ground wire on the thermostat housing is loose, disconnected, or corroded.

To clarify, the CEL remains on steady with and without the service connector jumped, right?
