turbo on my civic?
I have a "93" automatic civic EX, bone stock with very low miles(40k). I realyneed to gain some speed out of what i already have, and ahave been researching and considering turbo charging. irealy could usesome insight on this and even suggestions to give my car some *****......
I have the same car, and am also looking to turbo; but I plan to swap to manual before turbo because, from what I've read and heard, a stock m/t holds up better with a turbo and is easier to build up than an a/t. Right now I've done a few bolt-ons (intake, exhaust, and full msd ignition) and have noticed a difference. If you're looking to make your car more fun to drive w/o spending lots of $ thengo with bolt-ons and start with header/intake/exhaust. Quality h/i/e could run up to $800 or as cheap as maybe $200 used. You could also do some pulleys and cams but if you keep going it's just more worth it to buy a turbo. Make a decision on your goals for the car before you start, because a header can't be used with a turbo. You could also go with h/i/e for better throttle response and slightly more acceleration and put a 50 or 75 shot of nitrous for when you want instant power while keeping your motor stock.
