Default v-tec solenoid

wondering if v-tec solenoid fail? common problem?? i have power and oil pressure?? no v-tec

its possible, but you would most likely get a CEL. clean the little screen on it. (you have to remove it to get to it.)

This might be a dumb question but... how would you know if you had no V-Tec? When I read others describe it- it sounds like a powerband @ 5500, but I don't feel anything. I know it's a lot more pronounced with mods but still... shouldn't you be able to tell when it kicks in? Is there some way to check to make sure it's functioning properly?

on a DOHC, you can tell.
