yeah i didn't really notice it before. because when i was testing it out with the light it would kick in at 3,500 rpms, if thats normal for Vtec-e.....

How low was the engine oil to prevent VTEC from engaging?

it was almost half quart or so, around there

I didn't realize that just being a half quart low would prevent VTEC engagement.

me either but aparently it can cause after i added that half court, i had flying pieces of LED at me haha

just to make sure the oil level was the culprit, were you going at least 25mph the first times you tested it? VTEC won't engage below 25mph. Also, i think I read it won't engage if the engine isn't warmed up to at least a certain temperature,

no it does fairly well, i have no oil leaks and i have to add 3/4 quart or so in between oil changes

Was a VTEC CEL code thrown when the oil was low and the VTEC was not engaging?
