Default vtec silinoid leaking oil

what should I do about my 99 EX 1.6 SOHC vtec silinoid leaking oil? Ive taken the top off and shaved it down a little and put it back on with sealer. can I do the same with the part of the silinoid that is bolted to the block?

Put a new gasket between the solenoid and the head, don't use sealer there. I don't think the solenoid itself is intended to be taken apart. Replace the whole thing if it leaks other than at the gasket to the head.
