Exclamation wacko wipers

just the other day I was driving home and it was raining so I had my wipers on for about an hour or so. when i got home it stopped raining so I turned them off but they didnt turn off. the switch didnt change the speed either wether it was on, off, or intermitinte. The only way i could get them to go off would be when i take the fuse out. so now i am getting by with no wipers but I definately need them down here in florida. I think it is either a relay thats stuck open? or the switch in the steering column is broke. just dont know which relay it is or if that is the right problem. its a 2000 civic ex 2dr. and its silver if that helps.

My guess is a bad switch:

There's also a switch in the motor that controls the "parking" action. When you turn the column switch off, the motor switch keeps the wipers on until they reach the fully down position. If that switch is stuck on, they will not stop.

But check the column switch first.

i took the switch out but wont be able to check the continuity until tomarrow. I temporaraly but it back in and it started working fine. then after a couple on-off-on-off it stopped turning off again. I could hear it clicking in the column but I think it is just a bad switch. will confirm after testing tomarrow.
