Default What is this part???

So my brother took the fuel hose off of the fuel rail on his 94 civic with the 1.6 motor and there is this wierd piece that screws onto the end of the fuel rail that holds the fuel hose on. What the hell is this piece? I have taken it to autozone and checker and they have no clue. I need a new one but dont know what it its called or what it does. Anyone know what it is?

I think the fix may involve purchasing an entire fuel rail:

You might also look for a used replacement at a local salvage yard.

That is the pulsation dampener. It has a diaphragm and spring to keep the fuel pressure from pulsating much as the injectors open and close. Going to be a dealer part, or since they very rarely go bad, get one from a parts car.

You may need the fuel rail too then, since it's steel versus aluminum there. Also you must have exactly one copper washer in place on each side of the "banjo" fitting on the fuel line.

try autozone.... they should be a rather common copper washer... they should have extra ones for sale. your suposed to replace them with any high pressure line. like brakes and fuel.
