Where is the Diagnostic/Service Check Connector on a Honda Civic 93 - with pics
I have an Australian right hand drive Honda Civic 1993 Sedan GL 1.5 with computer controlled carby that is blowing black smoke and running bad. Has had a major service recently. I have been advised to check for error codes produced by the comp in order to figure out whether it could be the O2 sensor causing the issues.
I have got the service manual and tutorials online but I can not figure out which cable is the Diagnostic Check Connector for checking for error/fault codes.
The pictures and diagrams I have do not match what I am seeing.
Anyone know what cable to look for, etc.
Here are the pics to help:
Passenger side, underneath. Theres these connectors attached to the metal frame. I am thinking maybe it could be the brown plug?

Here is a close up of the connectors
Uploaded with ImageShack.us

This connector is located underneath the glove box but more to the center of the car

There is a bunch of cables on the underneath of the driver side where the fuses are. Any of them the Diagnostic connector?

Thank you

I don't think it's any of those. Possibly the one in picture #1 if that one doesn't connect to anything. Is the computer mounted near the blower motor, under the carpet?
If it were a EFI model, pull down the top edge of the carpet on the side of the car near the blower motor in picture #1, there is a big wire harness there, the connector is on little wires that hang out of the harness. You should find two plugs not plugged into anything, one with 3 wires and one with two. The one with two is the one you use, the one with 3 wires is for a proprietary computer scanner that only dealers had.

Do you know what colour wires they would be, or are they the only two plugs dangling on it's own for the car?
Thanks
O.K , I have pulled out the glove box and the carpet on the passenger side and I can not find a 2 pin plug dangling anywhere.

Here is a pic of whats underneath the bonnet. Just to give you perspective on how the car is set up. Is it possible that everything is wired differently for Australian Honda Civics??

I checked the drivers side again and I can not see any 2 pin connectors dangling.
Is there another way of triggering the error code display?

Friend, pull the carpet so you can see the computer and look around the area. It's DEFINITELY under the dash, not under the hood/bonnet.
It's a 2 pin connector and it's dangling loose. On 96-00 Civics, it's in a green rubber "connector" thing for protection or something. Pulls right out. Not sure if it's the same on 92-95 Civics. You may want to push the seat back and lay on the seat upside down to get a good look up under the dash.
Its always on the passenger side on USDM Civics, so that's my only point of reference.

That is a lot different from the US model. Here, they were all fuel injection by 1988. The older ones with feedback carb (and CVCC engine) had a small computer under the dash on the driver's side, mounted way up high on the relay panel. There was no self-test feature or check engine light on those computers.

Are you telling me it's underneath that?? Why would Honda put a computer where you put your feet on and maybe crush it?
Anyone have pics of how this computer looks like? I though the computer was underneath the bonnet next to the fuses.
Who here from Australia have done this and can confirm where it is or if it even exists??
On the left side of that pic, do you see the silver box bolted to the side? That's the computer. Can't think of a single car that has the computer in with the engine... It's much safer in the cab... Less dust, no corrosive chemicals, cooler and much drier
Do you know where that cable could be looking at that pic? I can see you have a honda civic 93 as well, where is it in your car and do you have a photo?
