Hi, Well i have a crack on my doors plastic in a 2001 Honda Civic EX. I was wondering if there was anywhere to buy the door piece or an aftermarket one (which i don't even know if they make) I just wanted to replace it. I know finding someone parting out a car would be good but thats hard to come by. Any suggestion's... Thanks


How about Bondo? I've never used it but seen it used a lot for car stuff, can i pick it up at a hardware store or will i have to order it?

thanks for the site ROBZilla, I had found another one that looks exactly like that but the place was in california and I live in NY so shipping probably would have been a lot.

 

Bondo is sold at every car parts store. It's probably not what you want here though. Cracked interior plastic can sometimes be patched with super glue. Apply it carefully so you don't have excess glue on the outside. If you want it to look perfect of course you will need to replace the whole piece.

 

It's been my experience that junk yards parting out cars usually prefer to sell entire doors rather than in pieces. Maybe you can find one with sheet metal damage but OK interior trim that the yard may be willing to chop. However, you may end up spending far more time than it is worth in order to do so.

I have ordered a bunch of stuff from these folks and have had good results with my Honda and my other wheels.
